Attorney James W. “Jim” Harris of Blytheville, Arkansas has earned the reputation of a competent, dogged, and aggressive advocate for his clients when they need it the most, throughout Arkansas and western Tennessee. His no-nonsense, analytical approach to each and every case he handles has earned him the respect of his clients, fellow attorneys, prosecutors, and judges as a trial lawyer in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, personal injury, and family law.
Born and raised in the Missouri Bootheel, Mr. Harris is a graduate of Arkansas State University – Jonesboro with two bachelor’s degrees – one in accounting and another in business administration. He later earned a master of business administration (MBA) from ASU before pursuing his law degree (J.D.) from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, Michigan.
Mr. Harris has been licensed to practice law before all Arkansas and Tennessee state courts since 1998. In addition, he is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Arkansas, the Western District of Tennessee, and the District of Colorado. He is married to Emily Harris. They have four daughters and two sons.
Most recently, Aarika served as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas, being first assigned to the Drug Task Force and then Poinsett County. She comes with vast experience handling criminal cases of all types, including major felonies. She is detail oriented, aggressive, and a welcomed addition to our general and criminal defense practice.
In law school, Aarika clerked for the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Little Rock. She is a graduate of UA-Little Rock, Bowen School of Law and Arkansas Tech University. She will primarily manage our Trumann location.
Aarika and her husband reside in Jonesboro with their two children.
We would like to announce the newest addition to our firm, Maegan Wren. Maegan comes to the firm with a background in domestic relations. She graduated from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in May 2015 and is currently admitted to practice in Kentucky. Maegan has over three years in practice litigating a variety of cases including divorce, custody, child support, and cases involving child protective services. She brings with her a strong work ethic and unique skill set. Maegan advocates passionately for her clients and looks forward to serving Mississippi County and the surrounding communities.
